Entry to first-year at UBC Vancouver

Faculty/program Minimum requirements
General requirements for all programs
  • Mathayom Suksa 6 (Certificate of Secondary Education)
    Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
  • Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the Thailand grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately¬†3 out of 4.
Applied Science (Engineering)
  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus), and
  • Senior Level chemistry and physics
Arts
  • No prerequisite subjects additional to general requirements
Forestry BSF & BSc (Forest Sciences) Programs

  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus)
  • Two of chemistry, physics, or biology (at least one at the Senior Level)

BSc (Natural Resource Conservation) Program

  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus)
  • One of: Senior Level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Chemistry (to the Junior or Grade 11 Level)
  • One of: Biology or Physics (to the Junior or Grade 11 Level)

BSc (Wood Products Processing) Program

  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus)
  • Chemistry and physics (to the Junior or Grade 11 Level)
Kinesiology
  • One of Senior Level math (pre-calculus), chemistry, physics, or biology
Land & Food Systems
  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus), and
  • Two of chemistry, physics, or biology (to the Junior or Grade 11 Level)
Sauder School of Business (Commerce)
  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus)
Science
  • Senior Level math (pre-calculus) minimum 2 out of 4 [1]
  • Chemistry and physics (to the Junior or Grade 11 Level) [2]

[1] Requires Pre-Calculus Math at a Senior Level.
[2] The Physics requirement may be waived with grades of A in Senior Level Math and Chemistry.

Transfer into second or third year at UBC

Most programs at UBC welcome applicants from recognized post-secondary institutions. To transfer into Science, you must have completed a university-level calculus course. The Sauder School of Business does not accept transfer applicants from universities in Thailand.
