This program provides significant practical experience with a generalist focus, which means putting students and the quality of their learning first and foremost. In the Teaching Children pathway (Kindergarten to Grade 5+), you’ll have the opportunity to personalize your studies by choosing a community-based field experience and elective courses in the Summer Institute.

This 16-month program offers students more than 24 weeks of practical experience in a variety of teaching contexts. Students enrolled in this pathway will learn to teach children in elementary grades (Kindergarten to Grade 6). The Bachelor of Education program offers extensive practical experience both inside and outside the classroom setting, including: two school-based practicums; community field experience; a 15-week internship; and many place-based learning opportunities. Join our community and engage in collaborative learning with instructors, classmates, practising educators, and community partners. You will graduate with a globally recognized UBC Bachelor of Education degree that is highly sought after by employers locally, nationally, and internationally.
