Interdisciplinary Performance is a unique program that offers an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach to artistic creativity, through exploration of performance practice, visual arts, and creative writing. Coursework explores techniques of performance creation and expression, and the history and theory of world performance traditions, together with a wide range of options in artistic media and creative writing.

The program culminates in the Graduating Thesis Project, which may be developed individually or collaboratively and can take a variety of forms, including public performances, live-art installations, and site-specific events.

Experiential learning and research

Your senior-level coursework will include a final solo performance, and students are able to conduct practice-based research across disciplines. The Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies offers $2,500 undergraduate research awards that provide undergraduate students support to engage in research and creative activities over the summer months.

What can you do with this major after graduating?

Career possibilities include areas such as applied arts, scholarly research, education and health, digital arts, curating, and cultural outreach.
