Latin American Studies major is an interdisciplinary program, with ample scope for individual students to shape their focus. Through examination of language, culture, society, geography, political systems, and histories of the continent, the program provides a critical examination of Latin America in contemporary regional and international contexts.

Experiential learning

In order to absorb Latin American culture and further develop your language skills, you are encouraged to take advantage of UBC’s Go Global program to travel and study in Latin America as part of your degree.
