On-campus events

ubc okanagan, events

Throughout the year we host special on-campus events for Canadian students and on-campus events for international students. These occasions give you the chance to connect one-to-one with current students, faculty, and advisors to have your questions answered and to get a sense of what it’s like to be a UBC student.

You’ll discover why UBC is consistently ranked among the top 40 research universities in the world. Plus, you’ll experience its rich learning environment and learn more about student life and your wide-ranging opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

We look forward to meeting you.

Experience UBC

Are you a Grade 10 or Grade 11 high school student in the Okanagan Valley? Come experience life and learning on UBC’s Okanagan campus. You’ll get to choose from two degree programs and have the chance to connect with current students in that degree, learn from a professor, explore campus, and get a taste of UBC life.

Destination UBC

ubc okanagan, destination ubc, ubc events

Excited about attending UBC? Destination UBC is a full-day informational event on UBC’s Okanagan campus where you’ll get your questions answered, connect with the UBC community, and start preparing for life as a UBC student before you arrive in the fall.

Admitted students from outside of the Okanagan (school districts 22, 23, 51, 53, 58, 67, and 83) are invited for a full weekend experience and may be eligible for a full travel reimbursement.

Can my parents come?

Absolutely. Parent-specific programming and sessions are available to help your parents learn how they can support you in your transition to UBC.

Indigenous Welcome

If you are a First Nations, Métis, or an Inuit high school student in Canada, Destination UBC is your chance to visit UBC’s Okanagan campus and connect with the Aboriginal community before you arrive in the fall. We’ll give you advice on transitioning to university life, and connect you with current students in your faculty or degree who can share helpful insider tips.

Aboriginal high school students admitted to the Okanagan campus are invited to both the Indigenous Welcome and Destination UBC events, and may also be eligible for a full travel reimbursement.
