I like that it is a small campus which offers intimate class sizes, and a community where I can easily interact and network with possible employers and my professors. I have been able to accomplish great work that I never thought was possible based on my professors’ investment in my studies and their commitment to my growth.
Modern campus in a thriving city
UBC’s Okanagan campus is a state-of-the-art centre for research and learning. Life on the Okanagan campus is shaped by its vibrant host city, Kelowna, which is known for its growing tech industry and outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking, biking, swimming, and skiing. The campus community continues to evolve, anchored by the warmth of the students, faculty, and staff, and inspired by the landscape.

Because of its tight-knit academic community, UBC’s Okanagan campus offers the chance for you to get to know your award-winning professors personally, explore innovative interdisciplinary programs, and forge your own path with flexible opportunities for hands-on learning.
After doing quite a bit of research on my own and speaking with high school professors back in my hometown in Brazil, I realized a smaller campus like UBC Okanagan would provide me with the close-knit academic experience I would need to get ahead in my studies.
My program rocks because of the small, connected community of students – many of us are engaged in the same extracurricular programs, like debate and TEDxUBCO, which contributes to an incredibly vibrant class setting. Many of our professors help out with these initiatives, and describe first-hand the improvements they see in students who take part.
I enjoyed the convenience of the class sizes and the professors’ willingness to give you their time to discuss the courses and directions. The professors were available to students and very supportive. Extended time to discuss course work was paramount – that’s just one of the positives of having a small campus.
